So I will go to DePauw this year and plan to transfer right after the first semester. The deadline is Nov 1 and I don't know how I can get a rec with just 1,5 months attending classes =.= do you have this prob and how do you deal with it ?
Also, I'm an international student and will need fin aid. a lot. I heard that fin aid for Spring term is extremely limited compared to Fall :-? is it true ? Do you suggest any LAC that offer good fin aid for int'l transfer students ?
Thanks a lot.

Getting good LORs after such a short time are going to be extremely difficult. Most students don’t face this problem as they transfer after 1-2 years and therefore have time to complete at least 1 semester before they apply.

Yes, FA for spring tends to be less than for fall because schools have a limited amount of FA and is distributed on a first come, first served basis starting at the beginning of the school year.

Relatively few colleges offer good FA to Intl students, and likely fewer to transfer Intl students. In general, these will be the very selective colleges that have large endowments. If you weren’t a competitive candidate for this level of schools as a fr applicant, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to transfer after just one semester at DePauw.
