So I'm graduating from my community college this coming fall semester (December 2010) and I have yet to apply to a four-year mostly because I have major anxiety issues about it. I've heard transfering in the spring can be complicated. Now I'm feeling kind of trapped and I've been going over my options.

I've considered taking the spring semester off and applying for Fall 2011 but I'm just not sure if it's a good idea and it feels like a very long time to take off. I mean, what would I do for 8 months? I'm also worried about finacial aid all that. I have a Doorways scholarship (If you go to a Florida college you may have heard of it), which is a pre-paid scholarship that pays for a portion of tution. I'm also an officer in my campus' Phi Theta Kappa chapter so I may be able to nab some scholarships that way but it all still worries me.

I guess my main question is, should I take the spring semester off or I do I stick my neck out there and try and ally for Spring admissions now? Has anyone had a similar exprience with applying for spring semesters and if so how did it fair out?

In case anyone's wondering, here are some of the colleges I have on my list

University of South Florida
University of Tampa
Eckerd College
