Transfer from a UC to CSU

<p>I originally wanted to go to CSUF but everyone was saying that I should attend UCI becuase it was a better school and such and I decided on UCI. But now that Im here I relaize I should have listened to my gut and gone to my first choice school CSUF. Is there any way I can transfer there as quick as possible. I have like 20 credits with a UC. Of can I drop out and just reapply to CSU for their next semester? I NEED HELP</p>

<p>Look up CSUF’s web site for its transfer admissions procedures.</p>

<p>And you may want to specify which F you mean. However, it appears that neither Fresno nor Fullerton is accepting lower division transfers (i.e. those with fewer than 90 quarter or 60 semester units). So you will need to wait until you have the needed number of units to apply as an upper division transfer.</p>

<p>i meant csu fullerton and that is what i was dreading. 90 quarter units seems like forever to me.</p>

<p>Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’m a freshman at UCI and I’m planning on doing the same thing. Just try to get all your GEs/lower-div reqs out of the way for when you get to Fullerton.</p>

<p>I think I’ll have 38 units by the end of this quarter… not much but we can do it :'D</p>

<p>I am sorry to hear that you do not like UCI. One thing you ought to consider for next year is not going to UCI, but instead attending a CC. Fullerton says on its website

CSU Fullerton is an impacted campus at the transfer level. Impaction means that there are more applications for a campus than can be accommodated. In order to ensure that capacity is not exceeded, more rigorous standards are applied to the transfer applicant pool. Impacted criteria may include local vs. out of local and major program impaction. </p>

<p>The local area for Cal State Fullerton includes all Orange County Community Colleges. Students must have earned the majority of units from an Orange County Community College to be considered a local applicant. Cal State Fullerton is impacted for all majors. Therefore, the GPA requirement will be determined based on the number of applications received and will not be determined until after the filing period is over.

What this means is that CC students from the local area have higher odds of acceptance than those from CCs outside of the area; furthermore CC xfer students are given priority over those coming from other 4 year colleges in general.</p>

<p>And even more changes are coming down the road

A California Community College student who has earned the Associates in Arts degree for Transfer (AA-T) or the Associate in Science degree for Transfer (AS-T) will be granted priority admission to the CSU into a similar baccalaureate (BA) degree program with a guarantee of junior standing as long as the student meets all prescribed admission requirements. Once admitted, the student will only be required to complete 60 additional prescribed units to qualify for the similar baccalaureate degree.</p>

<p>SB 1440 does not guarantee a student admission for a specified major or campus, but requires the California State University to grant a student priority admission consideration to the local CSU campus and to a program or major that is similar to the transfer AA degree as determined by the California State University.
