Transfer from CC to CSU without the Lab done

I spoke to my counselor at Chaffey and was told that i needed to complete all the AS-T requirements in order to transfer to CSUSB. Lie detector test determined that was a lie…All i had to do is finish 60 units of GE’s and Golden 4 apparently from what a CSUSB counselor told me.
Now my questions is now that i have all of that done, im still missing a lab that i need to take to fulfill the AREA 5. At chaffey they go on a couple weekend trips where i have to spend the night with the class apparently. I’m 30 and have 2 kids and a wife at home so i have put it to the side. DO i need that lab to transfer or can i just take it at a different time. Chaffey and CSUSB both have told me different things so im not really sure what to believe.

most of the CSUs are really strict about the course requirements. In truth, the answer probably varies by campus and year. Since admission is their decision to make, I’d trust what CSUSB told me
