Transfer from Community College to Stanford

Planning to transfer for econ major to Stanford
Already applied for UCB transfer
Highschool Unweighted GPA 3.95
College GPA so far 3.83 (will go up since i have one be, but should have half more classes accounted for, im thinking it'll be around ~3.95)

Main EX:
Founder/President of ECON club at CC (1 year (since only there 1 year))

other ex:
-i do allot of community work around the neighborhood, homeless shelter/streets,(5years)

-very involved in church, from playing mainly drums (6 years) guitar/piano (1 year) also preaching and Mens choir (2 years)

-small youth group leader (1 year)

-house building in Tijuana, Mexico (5years)

-A few tech jobs, in silicon valley,
-home ebay biz.(4years)

AP tests: Calc AB = 4 Chem = 3

My first impression on my chances:

Biggest dissadvantage: Their most popular major is, u guessed it, Economics, which i think is a bad thing for me, since im applying as junior i will probably need to state that

Second 2 fairly big disadvantages: Here are their SAT ranges,
-im good with the Math i got 720, but writting is at (560) (140 points below 25% range)
-and my verbal is struggling (at 520) (150 below the 25% range). Total SAT 1800.

SATII : Math IIC(~650) Physics(660)

Other than that im fairly in the range, with the requrements, and theres this thing that can put me at a small advantage. Stanford requires 26 semester units, and I will have 60.5 in one year, which is an advantage. My highschool background is also fair. I just dont know if community college is at disadvantage. Basically im finishing off a two year GE program in one year, since im transfering to UCB, is this a good thing?

Their transfer admission rate is 8% usually about 100 get excepted from 1200-1400 which apply.

The statistics are that 8% are accepted, not excepted. You'll need to know that if you want to go to Stanford.

Your GPA is great, both high school and college, but the SAT test scores do not impress. Also, as you said, Economics is the number 1 choice as a major at Stanford--and usually it's people who want to go on to Stanford's graduate school of business or who plan to go pre-law who take this major--so competition is fierce.

Lastly, while I see volunteer work, I see no academic competitions/ awards/recognitions on your list. Without these you are unlikely to get into Stanford, although I consider your chances at UC Berkeley to be very good.

Good luck.
