Is it possible to transfer from international colleges and receive aid?
If yes, (i'm hopeful) what are the statistics?

I'm an international finishing up high school in my country and i didn't time things right so i couldn't undertake the appliction process entirely this year. Is it a smarter idea to take a gap year and work and maybe do the SAT's properly again or enrol in a college in my country and try to transfer?

This question concerns me as well. I really want to study in the US, but I feel I started the application process too late. I've rushed alot of things and I think my chances of getting financial aid or scholarships are slim. If I enroll in a university in the country I live in (Belgium), will my credits transfer after one year?

It will be much more difficult to apply as a transfer than to come as a freshmen, especially if you're seeking aid. There are very few schools that are need blind to internationals, and 2 of them take no transfers.

Most schools take just a few from each country and achieve diversity with their freshmen classes. You would have to be extraordinary for them to accept you as a transfer.

If you can pay full freight and are not seeking a very top college, transferring won't be a problem.
