Hey guys, Im currently a computer science major at Rutgers New Brunswick and I love the school and all but was considering applying to UC San Diego. My GPA is a 3.6 and I was wondering what my chances to get in are and if it was worth transferring over there?
You do realize that as an OOS, your fees will be $55K per year?
Make sure you meet all of the transfer requirements for transfer. Your GPA may not competitive for CS since the major is impacted.

What do you mean by impacted ? And I’m fully aware of the cost. I was just wondering whether the transfer would be worth it or not.
It’s an impact major so you need 3.8 to transfer from within. I’ve read one guy did transfer in a few years ago with 3.6, internal transfer within San Diego, but the bar could be higher now. I would say submit an application and see.
I didn’t think it’d be that difficult, but thanks! I hope i get in
Check last year thread in the transfer forum, you get some data points.
Are you a sophomore now? The UCs only accept junior transfers.
They accept sophomore but you need to have at least 60 units. Some students take classes in the summer.
