What are my chances of getting into any of the UC’s? Here’s my background.
Out of State Transfer
Will be 3rd year
GPA: 3.8
Major: Computer Engineer
Pre Major Req: Finished everything but linear algebra and program C++
IGETC: No
By the end of the school year my GPA should be in the 4.0’s.
Engineering at the UC’s is impacted, so it depends on the school.
As an OOS transfer, you are aware that the UC’s give no financial aid to non-California residents? Your cost will be $55K per year.
Yes I am very well aware. I just wanted to know my chances of getting into UCSD, UCB, UCSB, UCD.
As an OOS resident, and transfer, your stats have to be better than instate residents.
Instate competitive applicants have close to or over a 4.0 for UCB and UCSD. Even UC Davis was tough this past couple of years especially in any area of engineering.
Riverside and Merced look reasonable, Santa Barbara may also look good.
Here is a link for Transfer GPA’s by major for each UC campus. Remember these are for in-state transfers which get priority, but it will give you an idea if you are in the ballpark.

Good Luck.
