Transfer Help: Wharton, Northwestern???

Hi,
I'm just asking for some general transfer advice/chances for these schools.

I go to University of Illinois and my backup is transferring into their business school next year (finance/economics with technology and management minor)

My GPA is 4.0 for 1st semester Freshman year (I wanted to take more course but couldn't..unfortunately not that rigorous..at times it was kinda hard)

Computer Science 105 - 3 credit
Speech Communications 101: Public Speaking - 3 credit
Microeconomics (hard course) - 3 credit
Intro to Public Health - 3 credit
Professional Seminar - 1 credit
Dance 105 - 1 credit

Next Semester

Intro to Buddhism
Econ 202: economics statistics
Health Stats
Accounting 201
Macroeconomics
Maybe Philosophy, if I get into the class

EC's
-started a Web design company..leader of a team of about 10 people (from the UIUC cs dept and a few other people) so far..expanding at a rapid pace
- Entering a few business competitions, including one at UIUC (working with a social entrepreneurship startup company), and a few prestigious competitions
- Doing research in health economics
-Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity (one of 20 selected from over 200 applicants)..(they have one both at NU and at Penn!!!)
- some volunteering like tutoring etc.
-working with NU student holdings on Web design and development

Stats
Hs GPA: 3.85 rank about 15/600
SATs: 1460 (720 V, 740 M)...should I retake?...I can prolly get over 1500
SAT IIs: 740 Bio, plan to take Math II (aiming for 800)
APs: AP Spanish 4, AP Calc BC 5, AP bio 5, AP Govt 4, AP Us 4, AP Macro 4, AP English: Language 5, AP Lit 4

high school ec's: pretty good; sports; some awards; president of a few clubs; active in voluteering etc.

-I don't think I really fit in at U of I...i.e. too much partying not much intellectual stimulation (I've really come to value education over the past semester as opposed to in high school when I saw it as a way only to "be successful"
-I falling in love with Upenn; the ability to create such a balanced education, especially with Wharton where you can combine so many things
- I'm also very very passionate about entrepreneurship (coupled with my interests in healthcare, public health) and obviously business/finance in general
- so many resources for people like me interested in entrepreneurship and what not
- At northwestern I would do Econ

Recs: expect them to be above average (nothing too spectacular :(
(very hard at a such a HUGE institution and as a freshman)

I don't think I'm leaving anything else??....ANy ADVICE???

I'm also thinking of looking at a few other schools..but I'm not sure which ones yet

Thanks Much!

you are in dude

how about Dartmounth?

Wharton- slim to none....the sheer number of transfers they accept will prevent you from getting in

NU- sounds more reasonable and seems more like a match..though your courses in college could be a little more rigorous like college level calc, expository english instead of speech communications, a history/psych/sociology instead of public health

heads up econ statistics probably wont transfer...i suggest taking stats in the math dept

I had to take some of those classes b/c they were pre-reqs for the business college (my backup) like Speech com. 101, and cs 105

I already passed out of calc so i didn't take that.

o ok, other than that, i think you have a really good shot at NU and maybe some ivies if you decide to apply...you should consider Stern(im there now) or Cornell AEM ( just admitted), your scores are very similar to mine...You took soo many AP's and did well+your gpa and sat scores are good..

good luck!

I'm starting to look into Cornell AEM but it seems like it doesn't have much recruitment for consulting, which is what I want to go into after college.

The reason for me is clear. I gain an exposure of a lot of industries which will provide invaluable experience when I start larger companies.

Of course, if I become wildly successful with my own ventures in college, who needs a job...lol.

On their website, their stats are very vague so I guess I'll just call them to make sure.
