Transfer Help

I've never done this, but I am feeling particularly concerned. I am on my second year and currently a writing and film concentrator at Sarah Lawrence College. The classes are challenging and the professors are engaging. The atmosphere is something else, the school's slogan is "you are different and so are we" what I didn't know was that everyone was different canceling out diversity. We are all different in the same way. Furthermore, being that the school is so small there is a severe lack of resources, many books needed for research can only be attained through inner library loans with Columbia, New York City Library, and NYU which could take days to weeks to get. I've really given the school a chance and have decided that I had originally wanted a small liberal arts education, but perhaps SLC is just too small. Here are my stats. I'm a terrible test taker my SAT scores are very low 1690, but my high school GPA is 3.9 unweighted, weighted 4.75. And my current GPA is 3.5. I received all A marks aside from a C+ in philosophy I'm looking to major in the drama/film dept at Vassar (a school I applied to before and was rejected as a freshmen) and NYU (particularly Tisch's cinema studies dept.) I work part-time to afford school and I have been interning with a Academy Award winning documentarian in New York City on a project for about a year now not sure what kind of weight that will pull for admission. What are my chances and are these even options considering how low my scores are? Where else should I look? I still want a small student to faculty ratio and a very challenging academic atmosphere near an urban environment. Please Help!

Just don't talk about the severe lack of resources in your current school. Don't make it sound like the reason you want to transfer to another school, even if it is.

Lenor, I am unsure about the scores, but other schools to possibly look at are Goucher, Clark, Ct College and Suny Purchase. Good luck!
