Transfer Housing for Berkeley (What are your picks?)

What are everyone’s picks for housing? Are you going with the on-campus, or off-campus route? If you’re on-campus, where do you want to live and why? Just want a good grasp of what everyone’s plans are, and what they’ve heard about on-campus options if they’re going that route.

On-campus options according to the Berkeley Housing page:

Residence Halls (Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, Clark Kerr, Foothill, Stern and Theme Programs)
Apartments (Channing-Bowditch, Wada)
Martinez Commons

As current transfer students who currently lives in Unit 2 Apartment Wada, its best for new transfer to really just choose between Wada apt (most transfers compared to others), Martinez apt or dorm (more sophomore compared to Wada, but newest), and Channing Bowditch (paying for summer too) for on campus housing.

I know a few transfer living in Towle, but I’m not familiar enough to recommend it. It also depends if you want to cook or not, the apts include a kitchen and as a result dont require you to pay for meal plan with housing (you can still get one if you want).
