Hello, currently I am studying in animation program in a Sheridan College(second year), Canada, I want to drop it, and go to Computer Science, and I wish to get in good University. I saw that Stanford Accepts Art Portfolio as support to any program. Is this Portfolio may help in other institution ( https://www.artstation.com/artist/uriyaxd ). And I also participated in Math Competition inside city and international, but I earned awards only in my city (Almaty, Kazakhstan), and it was only 8-7 grades , later I just was a participant, may it help application? I have really good grades from High school in science subjects, I just need to take SAT test this year, and TOEFL.
Specificaly I looking for Universities in USA.
Transfer International Student, can art portfolio help getting into University for Computer Science?
Some colleges admit freshmen using “holistic” criteria – seeing the student as a whole to consider what they might offer as a member of that college community. I think for transfers, the criteria really focuses on your college transcript and your rationale for desiring a transfer. Transfer admissions is usually different than freshman admissions.
While I don’t think an arts portfolio will hurt, I highly doubt it will help you as you apply to a CS major.
