Transfer merit awards

anybody who transferred to bu get good merit aid? my sat was 1420 and my high school uw gpa was 4.0 and my weighted was approx 4.29. still too early for college gpa of course, but i really need aid to attend so i was wondering if anybody could help. also, i am currently a freshman attending uc berkeley.

Did you look on the BU home page and check/search under merit scholarships and under transfers? Curious as to why you wish to transfer.
Good luck. BU is a great school.

my interest - film - is only a theory major at berkeley, not at all production based, plus i can't afford out of state next year. all of this i know should have been thought out more carefully to begin with, but i kind of got sucked into the whole prestige thing, which is really all very foolish now that i think about it. bu has a strong combined liberal arts with production film program with extremeley impressive faculty, that's why i would like to transfer. so berkeley too theory based, and other schools like nyu and usc too production based. bu seems to be a nice medium. ;]

check out the Bunite livejournal.com site and ask current film BU students to weigh in

OP,
Did you ever find out if transfer students can qualify for merit scholarships?
Boston is a great city for film. Lots of festivals. Check out the BU Clubs/activities list for film clubs. NYC is excellent as well, of course, but NY can be a bit overwhelming. I think you'll like the BU urban environment more than the Berkely one. The neighborhood is much nicer and you are right there in Boston, albeit on the outskirts, unlike Berk. where you are 20 min. from SF. Goods luck.
