Transfer Options

Hello all,
So had recently enrolled at my local community college in Illinois with the intent of transferring after receiving my associates in engineering (specifically biomedical engineering). I am a bit weary on where I want to transfer at the moment, but have these colleges in mind:

  • University of Wisconsin Madison
  • University of Michigan
  • University of Illinois at Chicago
  • University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign*
  • Michigan State University
  • University of Southern California
  • Marquette University

I have other colleges in mind, but these are my top picks at this point, meaning this is subject to change within 2 years. My question is this: If I want to transfer for Biomedical Engineering, which of these would best suit me? And if you have another option in mind, I would like to know! I know one person told me that USC would be a huge stretch, which is why it is towards the bottom of the list, but not giving up hope. I would really like to hear what you guys think I should do come 2 years time.

*Also with UIUC, does anyone know if they have a full on biomedical engineering program?

I was like you and immediately started looking at places where I could transfer. My advice is to finish your frist year and see where you are.

@“Erin’s Dad” but when I search up transfer options at uiuc, bioengineering doesn’t show up, just agricultural/biological engineering

@NASA2014 Thanks for the advice! I will we what happens within 1 year. Mind I ask where you ended up transferring too?

OP, then send an E-Mail or call them to ask. It could be because BioEng has a number of courses required starting in the first semester.
