Transfer Orientation

Which one are you guys going to? Im going this thursday!

p.s. any Marshall people go to the pre-orientation academic advising thing today?

I will most likely go this thursday too. i gotta see cuz i got a dentist's appt that day and i cant reschedule it for another month and a half. sooooo im tryin to reschedule, but we will see. Maybe ill just skip the appt. We should meet up domino

wanna be, exactly how long after you mailed your spring grades did you recieve your decision? and did you recieve your decision in the mail or did you call admissions and find out?

i received it EXACTLY two weeks after i faxed my spring grades. I called twice to make sure they had my grades too. I received my acceptance via regular mail

thanks bro! so that means they made their decision sooner than 2 weeks.

well, I just got back and it was a long day. My classes are all registered, so im happy. I also found out that almost all transfers who applied for SC housing will get it. My USCard is pretty sweet. overall fun day

i just got back home from orientation today and let me tell u, it was a nightmare. My transfer credit report was incorrect (wrong grades), they didnt have my AP scores on them, and registration said i did not complete my writing requirement (i did!). So i have to submit all kinds of paper work to fix everything and on top of that, I cannot even get into half the classes I want to, so my schedule is not going to be pleasant.

Other than these mishaps, orientation was put together really well and i had fun.

I feel bad for you people going to later orientation dates because your selection of classes when time to register, will be very limited :/

wannabe, were you in the business seminar?

no, i went to the sciences seminar because i wasnt sure if i should go to the business seminar if im not a business major YET. But i went to the Business advising at the end

I am looking forward for my transfer orientation. I wanted to make the first transfer orientation, but I am out of country currently so I could only make the second one. Can anyone who attended the transfer orientation tell me in detail what went on in the orientation? Also, are classes full that by the second orientation would there be nothing good left?

I am a business major and I never heard of pre-orientation business seminar occuring this week. I heard that they might have one in July 8th. When was the pre-orientation business seminar held?

deuce, I was invited for a pre-orientation advisement on Monday 6/20. They just went over exactly what we needed to graduate and told us which classes to take. It helped, because yesterday when everyone just started looking at the Fall schedule I was already done registering.

Business classes didnt fill completely, but all the good teachers did.

The day started with a campus tour, then a welcome speech by some vice president. We then went to a seminar based on our majors. Then we split up from parents and learned how to register on the web. Following that was a little expo where clubs and organizations set up booths and handed out information. Lunch was next (chicken, salad, mashed potatos.) Then the students went for advisement and registration while parents went to seminars on safety, health, and financing.

hi domino, thanks for the info.

In the orientation, does the advisor select specific classes for you to registor or give you option to choose out of several classes? Also, is it possible to not register class at orientation? Since I don't know what classes I am taking at all and I want to check which professor is good before registering. For the business classes, are the good professors really all full?
