So, I have to sign up for Orientation and i'm not even sure what the orientation is. I went on the website and it says blah blah blah mumbo jumbo about meeting counselors and other students, etc.

But what do you do at the orientation?

and How long is it? On the website it says 7am-3pm the day of, but others are saying its an overnight thing?

I'm confused.

Does someone want to fill me in?

You learn a lot of things about how Northeastern works and whatnot and do some paperwork and stuff. You get to meet your future classmates. You register for classes. And yes, you spend one night in a freshman dorm. And you eat in the dining halls. And you probably do some other stuff that I’m forgetting.

Transfers have to spend the night in a freshman hall?

***. That sucks.

Nevermind, didn’t pay attention to the title of your thread Disregard everything I said-- I have no clue how it works for transfer students.

No, transfers do not have to stay overnight. The transfer orientation is just a one day thing.

Phew! Scared me for a second hahaha

I still have to fly out to Boston from Northern California for a day - pain in da butt! Haha

Thanks ya’ll

You dont HAVE to spend the night, but its an option if waking up and trying to get there at 7am is too much of a hassle. Im a transfer student attending next Fall… Flying in from SoCal! I think Im going to spend the night.

Supp socal transfers !!

I’m flying in from NorCal too! :D

I called the school and got my orientation pushed back to September 1st - so I can just take a one way flight!

We should get roommate assignments soon!

fly in from soCal! still have to book my flight for orientation though =/

Why do you think roommate assignments will be coming soon? I called yesterday and they said they wouldn’t notify transfer students about room assignments until August. (They also said there was plenty of housing, so it looked like all transfers who wanted housing would get it…good news!)

@kierans

Oh, I thought their website said we’d get our roommate assignments by Mid-June?

I think mid-june is only for freshman. Transfers don’t find out until later.
