Okay so I just transferred here and got accepted. But the only problem I have is that I have to pay $350 dollars for a mandatory orientation??? My first college I didn't have to pay for anything. Why this one? And plus does anyone know anymore information about this orientation? It doesn't say much on the site.

Well, your orientation is based on which college you are in. College of Arts and Sciences, for instance, has certain orientation dates and Pharmacy has others, etc. You spend two days going to seminars and things to "learn" about the school and the area. While most CAS students have their list of classes pretty much straightened out, I'm pretty sure you still meet (as do the other colleges) with an advisor to finalize your schedule for the fall. You can opt to spend the night before in a dorm room as an "Early Arrival" if you have to fly in or something.

And it is absolutely mandatory. My advisor sent me a very threatening email when I asked if it was suggested or required.

omg really? well i guess i have to go.. but $350 dollars? come on..

They said it was "part of the tuition" but you have to pay it now. I'm not sure, I never pay attention to the money stuff-- my parents worry and stress about all that. Yes, I'm an ungrateful child.

Glad you're not mine, neuchimie

Uh... no problem... It's not like I've worked my butt off since the fourth grade to do well in school without messing with the things teenagers usually do, or anything. I don't worry about money because I'm worrying about how I'm going to survive my calc 3 and organic chemistry classes, thank you very much.

i think the 350 is part of your tuition, so basically they are charging you 350 but it is included in your fall semester tuition

Yeah, but guests (if you do more than two) are extra, I think.
