im a physics major and i withdrew from the last chemistry lab listed in the transfer pathway courses
however, that lab isn’t required on assist to the schools that ill be applying to. in some of the schools, chemistry isn’t even required. it is not listed on assist for UCSB as well, which is the school ill be TAG’ing to. i did complete gen chem I, gen chem I lab, and gen chem 2.
also, im currently finishing up my major requirements and will complete them by the end of the spring semester prior to transfer (so this spring 2017)
do i click on the “transfer pathways” checkbox or not? it only asks if i’ve completed the transfer pathway. it doesn’t specify whether or not that means that they’ll be “completed prior to transfer” or not. will it negatively affect my application if i say no?
i already completed the mandatory courses for UC transfer (the 7 course pattern / 2 english, math, ect.)
this is what the transfer pathway courses state:
Calculus-based physics for scientists and engineers (full introductory sequence of three semesters/five quarters through modern physics, with labs)
Single variable calculus (full sequence)
Multivariable calculus (one semester course)
Linear algebra (one course)
Differential equations (one course)
General chemistry (full sequence with labs)
however assist for schools like UCSD, UCSB, UC Davis, UCLA, and UCB don’t require the full general chemistry sequence with labs. i will complete the rest of the requirements on that list by the end of this school year.
and this is what the UC application actually states:
“If you followed a UC Transfer Pathway and completed all of the Pathway course expectations for your intended major, please indicate which Pathway.”
