Hey so i recently dropped out of high school i'm 17 and finished about 1/2 of my 11th grade year. I actually did decent in high school and had a 3.6/3.7 GPA from a jewish private school with a very strenuous curriculum (we had both Jewish and secular classes and didnt get out of school till 5:30 everyday and had hours of homework). I switched to public school after my first semester i was there for about 1 1/2 months and decided to drop out before the 3rd quarter ended, my withdrawal grades where 6 A's and one B (all honors academic classes). I haven't taken my SATs yet but i have taken my PSATs and received a score in the 1800's (don't remember the breakdown but it was pretty even) without studying, and now that i have plenty off free time i plan on vigorously studying for my SATs. Right now I plan on enrolling in Montgomery college for fall semester and majoring in some kind of engineering(havent decided yet) and i am confident that i can do well. However I want to be able to transfer to a 4 year university ASAP because i really want to have the full college experience and i feel like i will missing out if i am going to a community college while all my friends are at 4 year universities. What are my chances of being able to transfer sophomore year to University of Maryland College park, University of Virginia?

Unfamiliar with the colleges you listed but if you don’t have a high school transcript you need to get a GED. Some colleges don’t accept GEDs so that eliminates some schools right away for freshman admission. It also eliminates colleges for transfer admission if you don’t meet their requirements.

I’d say that not having your high school degree is a huge disadvantage in college admission.
