I’m looking to transfer to UGA for the Fall of 2016. You need to have 30+ hours before you can apply, and I just finished my first semester of my freshmen year during which time I took 14 hours (+ have 22 hours brought in via AP credit). All together, I have 36 hours and a 3.57 GPA (the minimum is a 3.2). Are my chances at getting in ok? I’m not asking so much because of my GPA, but because I’ve heard UGA rejects a lot of first-year transfer requests because they have so many second-year’s that apply. If anyone has ever been in my boat or knows of someone who has, please help!
Also, I’m not sure if UGA looks at ECs and academic achievements for transfer students? I’m an active member of a sorority, made dean’s list last semester and was nominated to the dean’s advisory council. Does this help my odds at gettng in over other first-year students?
