hello, i am wondering if i transfer from a 4 year college to a community college, spend 2 years at community college, then transfer to a different four year college, if my original gpa from the first 4 year transfers with me

Generally your GPA starts over when you enroll at a new school, but it’s really up to the school to decide. That said, if you apply to graduate schools they will see transcripts from every school you’ve ever attended.

If you have a year’s worth of credits from the first four year and are planning on spending two years at a CC, you’d be starting at the second four year as a senior. I’ve never run into a 4-year school that will give you a degree having spent less than two years on the campus, but there might be some. Just something to keep an eye out for.
