Transfer question

Was thinking to transfer to another community college in other state from other community colllege i have been attending. I have 40 credit. I was wondering if can transfer to another community for last few writting classes and then transfer back to finish math classes to get a.a.? I thought of transient but realized f.a. is not eligible.

If you transfer, you should plan to finish at the new place. That would make everything easier.

Why do you want to take the writing classes at this specific out-of-state CC? Wouldn’t you need to pay out-of-state tuition and fees there?

Actually wanted to graduate college in fl where i have been comfortable. The only reason why i want to take writing classes here in the state is because of tutoring. Yes, i would have to pay out of state later on if i go back but thankfully so far financial aid have paid almost everything from 2008-2012 and since last summer and they all came from fl when i was living there til i moved suddenly in dec.

You have been in and out of classes for ten years now. It is time to finish off your Associates degree. Go meet with the financial aid office, and find out how many more semesters of Pell money you have available (if you have been receiving Pell grants). That runs out after a certain point. If you just have student loans, then it is even more important that you finish up. You don’t want to borrow on cent more than necessary.

Once you have sorted through the aid issue with the financial aid office, speak with your academic advisor about finishing up as quickly as you can. Are you in the best major? Should you change your major? Do you want to transfer to a 4-year university and complete a Bachelors degree, or are you in a career-focused program.

When do you plan to move back to Florida? Would it be better to do that first so that you can finish all of your classes there? There is no guarantee that any of the classes you are taking where you are now will transfer to any community college or 4-year university in Florida.

Im only planning to finish hopefully to get a.a. then im done only bc of my disabilities. I have gone thru college in fl til recently. First half was one year certificate and now going to try to finish it to get a.a. im more comfortable taking college in fl then where im at. My goal is to finish math in fl only bc they dont have it here and may be harder here too. Good point about financial aid which i will check it out when they do expire before paying out of pocket. Actually i have looked both colleges for classes so i should be good to go since they are similar.
