Transfer Requirements

Hello I am currently attending a community college in Texas. I am wondering what exactling I would need to transfer to the University of Texas at Austin. Also I am wondering about my chances of acceptance since I attend a community college versus a big 4 year university. Any help would be respect and appreciated.

If the community college system is anything like california, you should probably have no problem transferring to UT-A given that you've got an alright GPA and completed requirements/pre-reqs.

However, I'll let brand handle this one since I think he is from TX.

ok thanks i agree

Did you just want to transfer into the College of Liberal Arts (most majors), Plan II Honors, McCombs (Business), Engineering, etc.? The requirements vary quite a bit depending on your major. For the most part, being from a Texas CC puts you at an advantage for transferring into UT as the state wants to aid CC students most.

i am wanting to transer as a liberal arts major. really i will transfer as anything to get in. brand do you have any specific pointers on what texas likes to see or anything like that?

thank you all

take general education courses - history, english, government, math, science. If you are only going to be at your CC for a year, take some sequences (History I and II, etc.) to be sure that they transfer ok. Get A's and you'll be in.
