Hi, i was just wondering what type of stats those kids who are admitted as transfer students usually have. I am currently a senior in high school but I am not satisfied with the school I am going to be attending next fall. I have a 1400 SAT and 3.94 GPA on a 4.0 scale, with some solid extracurriculars. I would like to apply as a transfer next year, in order to enroll as a sophmore. What can I do next year, besides get a 4.0 first semester in order to better my chances. Will I have any shot?

anybody have any information? it would be greatly appreciated.

please, anybody?

Transfer stats vary year to year...your SAT is a little low so you will need to be pretty high on the GPA side - 3.7ish, depending on where you are coming from of course.

i think his SATs are fine, I mean, I got into a ton of schools with a mid 14.

thank you very much guys, any other opinions?

where are you attending...?

I am going to be attending the Honors College (Commonwealth College) at UMASS Amherst. I have been accepted to Boston College, College of William and Mary, and University of Notre Dame but can't attend due to money issues.

Why do you think that Duke would be any better as far as money is concerned?

there are some circumstances that pertain to this year in particular that i don't really want to get into. By the way, how is the financial aid for transfer students, would i still have a shot at a good package since money will still be a concern? And back to the original question, how are my chances looking and what else can i do? thank you
