For tag, it varies from school to school, some require you to have the GPA by the summer before, others say you need to get a certain GPA by the end of fall.

Check pages 3 and 4 for the school you are interested in tagging to.

I have another question, I’m using assist.org and some colleges it would say " You need at least a 2.75 GPA at the time of applying…" but if some colleges don’t have a GPA, what does that mean for me when I apply?

If you apply by TAG, there will be an update form you need to fill out in January with your Winter Quarter grades. If you are not applying by TAG, the UCs will not request your Winter/Spring quarter grades before making an admission decision. If you get into a UC, they will then request that you send all your transcripts, to make sure you weren’t lying about anything, and that you didn’t fail any classes in the Winter/Spring.

On page 3 of the TAG matrix <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors; it lists all the GPAs that you need to have for each campus. As you can see, some schools want you to have the required GPA by the end of the summer before you TAG; other schools let you reach the required GPA by the end of the Fall in which you filed your TAG. However, you need to maintain that required GPA all the way through the end of Spring, otherwise your TAG will become invalidated.

If you were just applying normally (not by TAG), most UCs require at least a 2.8 GPA I think, but it depends on the UC and the Major you want to get into.

This basically means certain majors will screen for prerequisites, and you need to have a 2.75 minimum in those classes. You have a decent chance at UC Riverside and UC Merced.
