I'm wondering how difficult it would be for me to transfer to Georgetown School of Foreign Service after my junior year of college (I am currently a sophomore). I realize that I'd have to waste a lot of my credits, since Gtown only accepts 60 outside credits toward graduation and I will have earned over 100 by the end of next year (I missed the application deadline for Fall 05 and you can't transfer there for Spring Semester). Poor planning on my part, but I wouldn't mind a fifth year of college.

I'm in the Honors Program at St. John's University in Minnesota (a middle-of-the-road Liberal Arts school) and currently have a 3.71 GPA with a very wide range of courses. I got a 30 on my ACT way back in the day. I was in a lot of ECs in high school, but only a couple in college. I was only in the top 18 percent of my HS class.

Would it help at all to take the ACT again? I'm sure I would get a higher score, but if I took it after my sophomore year of college, it probably wouldn't look as impressive and to me would be somewhat degrading. But I'd like to improve my chances.

Next year I'll be studying abroad in France for fall semester. Spring semester I'll be abroad again on Semester at Sea through the U of Pittsburgh. Do you think that having all that international experience and language proficiency would help me get into SFS?

Any advice? General opinions?
