Transfer student just applied, couple questions.

Hello all,

This is my first post here. My name is Kevin and I'm a current NCC student about to graduate in December. I've attended NCC for 4 years part time at night, while working full time. I'm 23 and finally decided to get serious with my school and career, as opposed to just working making money and moving on. My major is Psych and I'm very determined.

I just applied to Binghampton and had a few questions.

First is about the schools campus life. While I keep my grades up and do what I have to do, I also enjoy a good time. I want to attend a school where I will truly get the 'college experience', meaning the parties, bars, dorm life, etc. I want to be able to leave in 2 years and look back with some amazing memories. Am I applying to the right place here?

Also, I've read MANY debates over the housing.. Can people who have lived at and attended here please chime in? I'd like to live in a facility that has fun, where the community is awesome and friendly and I'll never be bored on a Friday night. Any advice here?

While I know no one can say for sure, what do you think the likelyhood that I'll get accepted is? I'm going to graduate NCC with an AA and a 3.15gpa. How hard is Bimghampton to get in?

I'm pretty excited to get on with my life and appreciate any responses.
Thanks!

Just thought I’d add that I’m most likely not interested in joining a frat, I’m not really into all that nonsense and what not. Just looking to have a good time and get my education.
No offense to any of you who are involved with that.

You’ll have no problem finding ways to enjoy yourself here. Almost everyone I know goes out on the weekends and parties/goes to bars (without being involved with Greek life). You will certainly have a decent college experience in that respect.

As far as dorms go, I live in College in the Woods, and I think it’s pretty close to what you want. I think it has a terrific sense of community (lots of activities to do), and the people are very friendly.

I would describe Binghamton as moderately selective. As long as you’ve shown effort in your academics, I think you have a good chance of acceptance.

Thank you for the reply!
I’m glad to hear that since that’s exactly what I’m looking for!
Also, while I’m looking to enjoy myself, my academics are my first priority so that wouldn’t be an issue either.
Thanks again.
