Hello everybody, I am currently enrolled as a freshman at Creighton University in Nebraska. I have made the decision that I would like to transfer to a different school for fall semester of 2012. Currently, my top choice is University of Miami. I am currently taking 15 credits, and i plan on taking another 15 next semester as well. By the way, i really don't want to show them my test scores and high school transcripts just because they were god awful. Also, how are credits transferred? I will be applying in the spring, already have completed 15 credits but will be currently taking another 15 by the time i will apply. Will they have to see my test scores and transcripts? i really hope not.

I’m not sure about The U but most colleges generally need test scores from sophomore applicants. Also they will definitely want to see your high school transcript, especially because you are a sophomore applicant. Since you only have one semester of college completed, your high school record will in fact be factored heavily in their decision. The transfer policy will be different for whatever school you want to transfer to but generally, the core liberal arts classes, hard sciences, social sciences, math, english, foreign languages, will transfer anywhere. If your high school record is very poor, you will probably not get into a college that is considered a significant academic upgrade unless you transfer at least after 3 semesters but generally 4. Hope this answers your questions. Good luck!

Oh, on their website they said that high school transcripts and test scores don’t need to be seen if you have 30 or more credits. I think though that not all of the credits will be transferred. I guess i’m going to have to take the ACT again.
