Transfer student wishing to be a physician needs a four year university...

Hello all,

I am applying to nine schools for the Fall of 2015 year to transfer. I am at community college at the moment and will graduate on time in the spring with my Associates of Science degree.
My Schools are as follows:

Current School:
Richard Bland College of the college of William and Mary

Reach-
college of William and Mary
George Washington University
UNC-Chapel Hill

Match-
Meredith College
Sweet Briar College
Hollins University

Safety-
Virginia Commonwealth
James Madison University
George Mason University

I attended a small women's liberal arts college in Pennsylvania my first year of college. When my father had a stroke this past January, I decided to come back home and go to community college since it is cheaper as well as to help take care of him. I did pretty mediocre my first semester (2.98 cGPA) and then my grades worsened in the second semester (2.78 cGPA) due to my anxiety disorder. I finished my first year a 2.82 cGPA. I am now taking medication for it and am much better. I am currently looking at possibly receiving a cGPA of 3.4 for my first semester as a sophomore for this fall semester. I know it is a bit low for my reaches...but you never know until you try. I am heavily involved. I finished SMDEP at the University of Louisville this past summer and LOVED it!!! I would love to become a physician and I know it is tough being pre-med with the cGPA that I do have, but I am determined. I also did independent research this past spring and am currently doing microbiology research once again in a wet lab at my community college. I also am volunteering at the moment and have about 50 hours of service volunteering as a tutor for disadvantaged kids in elementary school. I would really love to attend GWU at the moment and it looks like the school for me-leadership, research, internships, and community involvement. As for WM, I live 5 minutes down the street from the college. It would be cheaper to commute everyday to school but I am not really in love with the student body as I have noticed the majority I come in contact with aren't very friendly. Please let me know what you all think. I really love GWU and would absolutely love to continue my education there!!

P.S.
I put this in the transfer thread but I guess not many people are looking at it because it is a chancing post. Thanks for your input for anyone who says anything.

bump?..anyone? I am not sure if my reach schools are realistic for my GPA. Can someone let me know?

Apply to the reaches anyway. That is why they are called reaches. As long as you have solid safeties that you like and a couple of good matches, there is no reason to not apply to reaches.

By the way, a relative of mine was not that great of a student but he finally got into med school after being rejected at least two or three times. During the interim he went to graduate school, and thus ended up with both an M.D. and a Ph.D. If you want it as bad as he did, then you can make it happen.
