I attended a small women's liberal arts college in Pennsylvania my first year of college. When my father had a stroke this past January, I decided to come back home and go to community college since it is cheaper as well as to help take care of him. I did pretty mediocre my first semester (2.98 cGPA) and then my grades worsened in the second semester (2.78 cGPA) due to my anxiety disorder. I finished my first year a 2.82 cGPA. I am now taking medication for it and am much better. I am currently looking at possibly receiving a cGPA of 3.4 for my first semester as a sophomore for this fall semester. I know it is a bit low for my reaches...but you never know until you try. I am heavily involved. I finished SMDEP at the University of Louisville this past summer and LOVED it!!! I would love to become a physician and I know it is tough being pre-med with the cGPA that I do have, but I am determined. I also did independent research this past spring and am currently doing microbiology research once again in a wet lab at my community college. I also am volunteering at the moment and have about 50 hours of service volunteering as a tutor for disadvantaged kids in elementary school. I would really love to attend GWU at the moment and it looks like the school for me-leadership, research, internships, and community involvement. As for WM, I live 5 minutes down the street from the college. It would be cheaper to commute everyday to school but I am not really in love with the student body as I have noticed the majority I come in contact with aren't very friendly. Please let me know what you all think. I really love GWU and would absolutely love to continue my education there!!!
