Transfer Student

I am currently a freshman majoring in Engineering at the University of Rochester. I am applying to transfer to the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt University for Fall 2014. On the other side, I am also very interested in voice performance. However, I am not quite sure about double majoring or minoring in voice performance yet. Does the the Blair School of Music offer minor degree for voice performance? If I got accepted to the engineering school fortunately, will I have access to the courses that the school of music offers, such as private lessons with voice faculties (I don't mind paying extra fees.)? I really appreciate your reply! Thank you!!! Can anyone studying at Vanderbilt let me know please!

Yes, they offer minors in voice performance, and yes, you can take advantage of Blair even from the School of Engineering. I believe there may be some sort of audition to become a vocal performance major/minor, and there’s definitely fees involved for the voice lessons.

Thanks! Will voice minor be taught by voice faculties or grad students and TAs?
