Hi, I’m currently a freshman at Southern New Hampshire University looking to transfer to a school in Boston. What are my chances of getting into BU or Northeastern?
GPA: 3.83
EC’s: nothing special
Also my current major is Math, but I’m looking to switch to Computer Science
From BU’s website, here’s what they’re looking for: The most competitive transfer applicants are those who enrolled and excelled in the most challenging curriculum available to them. We look for students who have taken a range of courses, including mathematics, social science, natural science, and humanities. On average, transfer students who are admitted earned a 3.5 GPA in college courses. Although college achievement takes priority, we also consider high school records. In general, admitted transfer students earned grades of B+ or higher in high school coursework.
From Northeastern’s: While the most successful transfer applicants have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher, all applications are reviewed holistically. Our reviews take into account every aspect of an application, including academic performance, academic evaluations and recommendations, a personal statement, and performance on standardized tests (if applicable).
Hope that helped!
