Just because I've been worrying about it, I assume some of you are to. Transfer acceptance letters will be mailed out once a week, every week in March until April 1st (so 4 times total). On that note, general transfer acceptances have not been mailed out yet so if you haven't received yours then your not behind the curve and your chances are not shrinking, they simply haven't sent them out yet :)

Thanks for this info. I’ve been worried about this as well. Did the admissions office tell you this? Best of luck.

I was just accepted to Harpur as a transfer student! Guess I didn’t need that essay after all! Has anyone else heard back? Best of luck.

WOW. Congrats.
can you please tell me your stats?

I’m reallly nervous. Didn’t hear back yet. I’m not even sure if they got my transcript since there was problem with it…

Stats were a 3.15, 3.69, and 3.096 averaging to about 3.33 overall. They say they pay most attention to recent coursework. I didn’t send an essay but I had sent one when I was rejected last Spring so they may have possibly still had it on file? Best of luck. I say give them a call and find out if they have all your materials.

The common trend seems to be out of state students get in on a whim where instate students need to fight for their life. Just wondering if there is any truth with that statement, where did you get in from?

The reason I ask is I applied with a 3.98GPA, 60 credit hours under my belt, an A.A, dean’s list both years, 200+ volunteer hours and what I would like to call a pretty decent essay. I’m not saying by any stretch of the imagination I should be a “shoe in,” but I would like to think I have a strong chance and probably more then anything just voicing my stress of not having an acceptance yet.

Sigh.

I’m in NY. I can’t imagine you being denied with those stats. What program did you apply to?

The premed bioengineering track with Watson, but thanks for the reassurance. Shall update in a few days if I have received word :)

You should be an easy shoe in…don’t worry!

Now they are saying that the admission decisions wont be mailed out for February transfer applications until late March/Mid April. This is starting to get on my nerves – Its not a hard thing to have guidelines in place to keep everyone in the loop on whats going on.

Where are you hearing this from? Have you been calling the admissions office? They don’t seem to give out much information regarding application status and decision dates.

The transfer office offered up the information. On that same note I have now been told decisions will be mailed out well into April.

Dreamworld, when did you “finish” your application? Because of the rolling acceptances I think when the application was complete is a key factor in hearing back.

I guess it was considered finished when they received my most recent transcript which was apparently Feb. 25th. I called on the 28th to find out if my application was complete. They told me yes. I received the acceptance March 2nd or 3rd but the letter is dated the 28th.

My application was complete on February 16 and I still haven’t heard anything… Dreamworld, did they send you an email also? And if so, did you get the email before or after you got the letter?

Different schools/programs all have different procedures which I think is a reason for lots of people hearing back vs. none hearing back. Personally I applied to Watson, but I find it hard to believe your application was finished and received an acceptance on the same day. Mine was “completed” February 1st and still haven’t heard back.

But yeah the admissions people give our random information if you get the right person on the phone. Who knows if its accurate because they seem to do what ever they want anyways.

By the way, does the “status checker” change at all after being accepted?

I didn’t receive an acceptance e-mail. The status checker has not changed. I do remember when I applied last year though it said “Admission Decision: Rejected”.

Ah really, well that’s good information. As mentioned before I am under the impression that Watson in general is taking their time. Transfer is under rolling admissions decisions so who knows when it will come, everyone will be different.

All I know is the latest to receive a transfer decision is ~mid April, hopefully everyone receives word before that though :S

A friend of mine told me today that he applied as a transfer for the spring 2011 semester very early-- like over the summer. He didn’t get his decision until the end of December. :/

The transfer office has nothing to do with admissions…They are only dealing with enrolled students. They don’t even see the application. The admissions office is who you should be contacing.

Well I don’t know why they were just randomly giving out false information, doesn’t seem to smart – especially from a department that apparently has no baring on admissions decisions. But either way I finally got my letter today so maybe I’ll see some of you guys around campus.
