Transfer Students: GPA

Hi everyone!

Talked to a couple of friends of mine and we were discussing about GPAs once we transfer to our 4-year colleges. Just wondering if our GPA now in CC transfers over to the university we transfer to, or if it “resets”. We’re all well aware that if it does happen to reset, our GPA/courses/grades…or whatever from CC shows up on our transcripts if we were to apply to grad school or something. Just wanted a verification for those who’ve been there and done that.

Thanks again.

you’ll have 3 GPAs listed on your transcript at CPP. One of them will be your overall GPA (which includes transfer courses). one of them will be your CPP GPA. and the last one will be your major courses GPA (does not include GE classes).

so no, your GPA does not reset.

@tehjoadsta Very informative and interesting. Thank you for the reply!
