Transfer GPA quesitons

Hi everyone I just had a question and if any counselors or people who have work or worked in admissions are out there it would be great if you could help. I am currently contemplating the idea of transferring to a community college back home and was wondering how my GPA would be calculated and how it would work to transfer units out to possibly the same university or another one.

I currently at Cal Poly Pomona and I have not done well at all ;( I just don’t feel like I am doing my best out here and I am looking for a fesh start.

I came in with a lot of AP units and I have passed most of my classes with relatively good grades.

I am asking if I want to transfer my units to a CC to then transfer to another University will all of them transfer or can I pick and choose.

I have failed some classes and those are the ones I wish to forget.

If anyone has any information on this it would be great.

When you transfer to a CC, all of your grades are placed on your new transcript. The GPA at the old college will not carry over, you will only have a gpa from the new school. You may not receive credit for any grades under a C, but they will be reflected on the new transcript.

Keep in mind, that when you decide to transfer to another school- 4 yer college/grad/professional school that you must submit official transcripts from every single college that you have attended.

THank you this is very helpful i just spoke to a counselor today and she said it would count for my gpa that i apply to the new college but hopefully what you said happens.
