Hello all,

I have several questions and want to thank you in advance for your time.

Do colleges generally offer scholarships/merit aid to transfer students who excelled in high school and their previous college?

Is Spanish Honor Society worth mentioning?

Do awards from high school such as:
-Scholar Athlete Award winner (1 Winner in the School) Highest GPA 3 Sport Varsity Athlete
-Saber Award Winner * Highest Possible Award * (Student Athlete excelled both in the class room and on the field, displaying the utmost level of Leadership that was imperative to the success of the team)
-Coaches Award (Student Athlete demonstrated determination, commitment and leadership while selflessly putting the team before him/herself.)
-MVP Award
-School Sponsored Event 1st Place Winner (1250+ In the school)

Will they take into account work experience since graduating?
-Employed by a law firm doing real work (Creating writs of garnishments of wages/property ,starting complaints, affidavits, etc.)
-Started and managed small landscaping company
-Co-Founder of a Catering Company serving private schools lunches

Would they want my SAT and/or ACT Scores having completed a year of college?
SAT- 1170/1730 Disappointing
ACT- I never took this test. Would I be able to take this test over the summer or during the year and send it in with my transfer application? I'm quite sure the ACT is a better test for me.

I have glowing recommendations that I would be able to send in.

Assuming a 4.0 GPA is maintained the first year, and taking the previous into account, how much (if any) merit aid for a transfer student could be expected from a school such as Florida State, Maryland, and College of Charleston.

I know this is a loaded question, and I do apologize for that. Again thank you for your time and responses.

Sincerely,
Karma
