<p>Are there any other transfer students applying to Pomona College this fall? I feel like a lone wolf...but also extremely discouraged. I know its quite hard to get in...so I figure this is my shot in the dark. </p>

<p>I am a parent so I cant help you with your quest for companionship but I will relate a discussion I had with my DD last month. </p>
<p>You may already be familiar with incoming freshman belonging to sponsor groups when they come to Pomona. These are groups of about 20 students who are placed in the same dorm in rooms adjacent to each other and they do stuff together. The whole idea is to have a beginning group of people who you get to know and can hang with and not feel isolated. </p>
<p>In one of our discussions she was telling me about a sophomore sponsor group which I had never heard of and she went on to explain that it consisted of transfer students new to Pomona. Some were from across the country and at least one was from the college next door, CMC. So it is quite a diverse group of transfer students. Hopefully if you do get in, you will have a group to share the experience with when you get there. Good luck!</p>
<p>My D was a sponsor for transfer/exchange students, so yes, there is a sponsor group on north campus. I’m sure other prospective transfers will respond to your posting as they have to past postings like yours.</p>
