I am transferring to UNC from a Community College and just wanted some advice as to housing, social scene, Greek system, etc.
I will be a junior political science major.
Plus if there is anyone else who is transferring in, what are your concerns etc. Have you found housing?
How easy is it to meet people? Other students have already had two years to meet people so I didn't now if it would be harder to get involved at UNC as a transfer junior.

It’s definitely harder than coming in as a freshman but it depends on your personality and how outgoing you are. I’d recommend doing the Greek thing if you are interested because it makes things a lot easier socially anyway.

I’m a transfer student too. I signed up for housing, because I feel living in an off-campus apartment would be detrimental to my social adaptation. I’m on the roommate finder thing on the housing website. I’m hoping for Rams Village or Odum . I’m already a brother of a fraternity, so hopefully that will help a lot.

I heard the Week of Welcome is really geared toward freshmen and transfers so hopefully you can meet people thru there too. And yeah, you definitely cannot be shy. You have to be outgoing and go in with an optimistic outlook that it won’t be hard, self-fulfilling prophecies like we learned about in AP Psychology.
