I called the transfer admissions office the other day, and I was told that it was acceptable for me to use my previous SAT subject test scores. However, I forgot to ask whether it was all right to use my previous ACT score. I was wondering if someone on CC could clear this up for me because, on the transfer admissions site (MIT Transfer Admissions), it says that the new SAT I is required.

I have a half-memory of this question being asked here a few years ago, and to the best of my recollection, the answer was that only the SAT was accepted for transfers, because the pool was so small the admissions officers wanted to be able to have the same set of scores for everyone.

Perhaps you could search around for this discussion – it must be around here somewhere.

It’s so good to know that I am not yet losing my mind.
