I am a current freshman at University of South Carolina and I am thinking about transferring to Baylor. I am from Pennsylvania, but i am very conservative. At USC “Yankees” are somewhat looked down upon, especially in frats. I wanted to know what Baylor is like. Is it a party school or bar school? Are there parties easy to find? Could I get into the honors college or scholarships? Are northerners looked down on? etc… anything about Baylor would be great to know!

Yankees are not looked down on at Baylor. Students are very friendly and will wonder how you ever heard of Baylor and why you came all the way to Texas! Baylor is not a party school, but there are parties and if you want to find them I’m sure you will. I don’t know anything about transferring and scholarships/honors college etc. I do know that the honors programs are hard work and probably the majority of the kids living in the honors residential college are not spending a lot of time partying. Students are on the conservative side for sure.
