Transfer to Brown/Dartmouth/Upenn from NYU/Notre Dame

I planned to go to NYU or Notre Dame this fall and major in economics. I want to transfer to Brown, Dartmouth or UPenn. How are the college credentials I need to achieve for transferring these three, eg GPA, EC.

I prefer NYU to Notre Dame, but Notre Dame ranks higher. So if I go to NYU, will I be at a disadvantage when transferring, compared to Notre Dame.

I am an international student(Asian), but my high school record is good. SAT:over 2100 and SAT2:over 2350 (3 subjects) and GPA:over 92.

Thank you for your replies.

Do you know how incredible NYU's economics program is?

econ in NYU is even better than in ivy

I wouldn't go into a school planning on transferring out. You'll miss out on the good things, and NYU has a lot to offer. Plus their econ is fantastic.

Are you in NYU Stern for Econ or NYU CAS?

I am in NYU CAS because I didn't know Stern when I applied~~

unless you have a legit reason besides prestige or a 'better name' which seems like your reason from what you've said, dont even think about transferring. especially not to schools of that calber.

I say this because I went to college with the same mindset (university of rochester) and didn't have the best time first semester. I did apply to transfer to schools such as NYU, JHU, UPenn, and Columbia...(crossing fingers for any of those) but I lucked out in my reasoning. When you transfer u cant just say because its a better school or whatever. I assume you won't be writing an application on just that, and will need a legit reason for wanting to transfer.

as people have already said, NYU is a great school with an excellent Econ program (one of the toughest in CAS, i hear) give it a chance
