So I am currently a freshman at UC Davis and I'm looking into transferring to another school for Fall 2011. I am extremely unhappy here. I don't think this school is a good fit for me and I only came here because I didn't get into my top choice schools.

I don't exactly know how transferring after freshman year works. If anyone can give me some insight that would be amazing!

My high school stats were:
3.75 UW/4.18 W GPA (top 20%)
2110 SAT (640 CR/740M/730 W); National Merit scholarship commended
9 APs & honors classes
ecs: a lot of volunteering, marching band

When I applied as a high school senior, I got waitlisted at BC, USC, and WUSTL. The "best" UC I got into was UC Davis.

College:
First quarter (15 units): 3.58 gpa (Biological sciences major)
I know this gpa is not that great. Is it going to hurt my chances if I decide to transfer after freshman year for Fall 2011?

What are my chances at:
-BU
-BC
-University of Michigan
Any other schools you would suggest?

Also, do transfers typically get decent financial aid? I'm currently paying full price for UCD ($30k), but I'm just wondering how FA is for these schools because they are a lot more expensive.

Sorry for the lengthy post! If you could help me out, that'd be great! :)
