Hi all,

For many reasons I seek to transfer to Claremont McKenna College. I have a 3.72 GPA and this semester it should hit 3.8. I have received all As in my classes except for a difficult Berkeley math weeder, where I got a C+.

I started a company with my uncle and I'm VP of Finance for a small club. I am also a member of two other clubs.

Do I have any shot at all?

In High School, I applied to Williams and Dartmouth but was waitisted to both schools.

My SAT is 2110 but I never studied, and I will study this summer and bring it much higher. I'm a white male from CA.

You should definitely apply. Hard to predict what your chances are but your stats are fine. Don’t worry about re-taking the SAT, it’s fine as is. I doubt they put too much emphasis on an SAT re-take during college given that your original score is sufficient. Ultimately, it’ll come down to the strength of your essays and letters of recommendation. Feel free to PM me with any further questions. I transferred to CMC from William & Mary after my freshman year.

Do you mind me asking why you chose to transfer from WandM to CMC? We live in VA so WandM is an obvious top school but how does CMC differ frm WandM…both liberal arts/relatively small…I would be interested if you could share your views.
