ILR is a very set curriculum. It's not a good idea to apply there because you think it'll be "easier" to get in, and then transfer. Don't go by the numbers and percents. Show your interest in AEM through your specific college essay and you should be fine. It is not a good idea to show interest in ILR and then transfer because you think it's easier. Trust me.

lol I thought he was joking at first but then realized he was actually serious. oy veh. this question...

with that mentality, your acceptance rate for ILR will be lower than for AEM.

hahaha why would it be any lower? Admissions officers can't read minds. You can simply pretend your intrested.

ILR is a specialty school and gomestar has worked in admissions sooo ya...it's rather hard to fake it. And you waste a lot of time at Cornell if u just come in thru ILR to get to somewhere else.

Nobody likes people that take advantage of their school to transfer to another.

You should keep in mind though that Internal Transfer Admissions Officers are weary of "double transfers" (heard it straight from ITD) and since AEM is the most competitive internal transfer program, you may be "stuck" in ILR.

heard AEM is one of the easiest major at Cornell

"Admissions officers can't read minds."

they can't read minds, but they can pick apart intent quite easily -- you're not the only one talking about yourself, the guidance counselors and teacher recs plus EC's paint a very colorful picture of a candidate w/o any personal essays.

But you can't pretend you're literate.

If you're accepted to ILR you'll be stuck in ILR core classes first semester, so you'll probably be pretty miserable if you're not actually intereted in them.

pppfffffft ... who doesn't lie on their college applications these days.

I don't. I'll just embellish/enhance certain parts of my app. but not lie.
