I was accepted into Cornell for this academic year but turned them down for another school which I realize now was a horribly made decision. If I were to apply for a transfer would my chances be affected because I turned them down previously?

If you want to transfer to Cornell, send in a transfer application. I don’t think having turned them down would negatively affect your transfer application. I know about one kid who turned down Cornell for another school, was unhappy and then transferred to Cornell as a junior (where he is very happy).

But having said this, you really shouldn’t make too hasty a decision about your current school. Adjusting takes time. You may find you like it. But do go ahead and look into timetables for transfer applications.
