Transfer to Cornell without pre-req's??

Hey guys.
i'm going to be spending next year at the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT).
After the year, I'm transferring to an American school.

I would really love to transfer to either Cornell's CALS or Human Ecology.
JCT's course selection is pretty small, though, and I wouldnt be able to fulfill the English composition requirement, biology or chemistry requirement.

Would I still be able to be seriously considered for transfer admissions to either of the schools?
I took Human Development in the College of Human Ecology last summer (got an A), if that helps.
thanks.

p.s. i got an 800 on the writing section of the SAT- can that satisfy/ exempt a requirement.
im also expecting a 4 on the AP English Lit. and Comp.

THANKS again :)

check out:

i think it will depend heavily on your major..

could you perhaps knock out the english at a JC before setting out?

Check out if u can take a couple courses at a local college (community, state, ect...) whenever u have the time (Summer?) and if they satisfy the reqs. GL! Have a great time next year! That's going to be a great experience!

Thanks, guys!

Hey Seiken- is there any reason that you think I should try to knock out English in particular before I leave??
i could, but my first choice would be taking an EMT course this summer (which of course looks pretty good for a premed student trying to transfer to Human Ecology or CALS, right???)..... but i definitely would be willing to do it...

and Figgy...
first off, congrats on Cornell!!!
secondly, i could probably take a course or 2, but i dont think that would take care of all the requirements that JCT doesnt cover... is one or two missing okay????
Thanks again!! :)

I do think that that would be alright, but it would limit your course choice a little once you transfer. I'd try to get them out of the way but if you can't it's probably still alright...but you should ultimately ask the transfer advisor (or someone) if that is alright because CC isn't the final say. I'd assume that you would be fine though. GL!

I think meeting all of the prerequisites is more important than the EMT course, so I probably would do the English, and then perhaps do some EMT equivalent thing while in Israel.

Though to counter my statement, I was transfer admitted to CAS without taking a prereq or two (I think, but APs might have cleared me), but they have been more lenient on me because I was attempting to enter as a sophomore.

Of course, the thing I recommend most is calling them up and asking whats up from the person who knows the answer best.
