I go to a CC down the road from Mason but cannot get straight answers. I am planning on transferring to Mason next spring or fall (Assuming I can get a spot in one class next semester, my last hopefully) and I keep hearing its next to impossible to get housing as a transfer. Is this true? I am about to turn 24 and once my GI bill ends I have to move out of my parents house on base. Whether or not I finish my degree is dependant on whether or not I get a housing assignment. How hard is it?

You need to contact GMU and ask their housing office. Find out if you are even eligible for on-campus housing given your age.

If you know your major at GMU, get in touch with the department, and ask the current students about their housing situations. Chances are that they will know people who are looking for housemates.
