I go to a CC down the road from Mason but cannot get straight answers. I am planning on transferring to Mason next spring or fall (Assuming I can get a spot in one class next semester, my last hopefully) and I keep hearing its next to impossible to get housing as a transfer. Is this true? I am about to turn 24 and once my GI bill ends I have to move out of my parents house on base. Whether or not I finish my degree is dependent on whether or not I get a housing assignment. How hard is it?

Curious…why does the housing change your decision? Is it somehow covered if you are on campus? I thought I heard, that sharing a place off campus can be cheaper than campus housing, could be wrong though.

It should not be that difficult to get housing as a transfer student. Mason is building more dorms all the time. Over the summer they are converting their hotel, the Mason Inn, into more dorms. Just make sure you register for housing as soon as possible after you get admitted and the housing registration process opens. Some students like freshmen get priority in housing, but after that it is largely on a first-come first-serve basis.
