Transfer to Northwestern?

Hi everyone,

I'm kinda new at posting here, but I'm been looking at these boards for awhile.

I'm applying as a Journalism transfer to Northwestern (Medill) for fall 2011.

Transferring from the University of Missouri with a 3.7 GPA after one semester.
ACT: 27
HS GPA: 3.4
EC: Production assistant at the local NBC affiliate, appeared on air as a cut-ins anchor for the morning news, Magazine Club, floor government

HS EC: Captain of show choir, captain of color guard, 13 years of Girl Scouts (Bronze and Silver awards), choir, drama club
Work Experience (while in HS): Worked at independent tea shop, worked as skating carhop at Sonic, worked as Starbucks barista

I'm hoping that my high school academics won't hurt my chances too much. Also, I'm hoping that my work at NBC will help since it's an EC related to my major.

Thanks!! :)

Anyone…??

Are you asking what your chances are? If so, you stand a decent chance. But obviously, all top schools are very difficult to get into.

Yes, I am asking for chances. Thanks for your input! :)

While admission office is going to focus on your college gpa, they are still going to look at your hs transcript.

I would consider studying and retaking the ACT. (northwestern allows for a retake)
