Ok friends.. i´m business major at a private college, but i have always dreamed about going to film school. The thing is:
I´m an international student and would only consider going to USC, UCLA, NYU, chapman or Northwestern. Why . because if i´m going to to take my chances in the entertainment industry i wanna make sure to have a good shoot by going to a good school( top notch faculty and good connections). My problem is that i have no film experience and i´´m afraid i won´t have any chances against other students.
I don´t want to stay in current school and i could transfer to a top 20 business school, but i f i do that bye bye film school..
so my question is.Should i try those film schools and see if i get accepted, In case not try the next year as business transfer...or should i apply to those schools as a business major then try to change to film school?
as for my stats i have a 3.9 gpa .

will you not be able to do both?
stay in business school and try out film classes first.
then maybe you can go on and have a double major?
during my campus tour at usc, the student giving the tour told us that he is a Film major and a business minor because he thought it'll give him more advantage in the industry he has chosen.

^^^^^ I have thought about that. I would have a better chance applying to business school , but i´m just afraid i wouldn´t be able to double major or transfer to film school.

don´t let my thread die..buummpp

You won't get in to any excellent film school totally lacking film experience.
Transferring within a university from business to film is practically impossible. At least at USC I have heard.

^^^^ really??!!! oh man..any suggestions??

Anyone?????????
